Colombo, Sri Lanka – November 18, 2024 – XpressJobs is proud to announce its partnership as the Official Recruitment Partner for Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024, happening from November 18th to 24th. This year’s GEW theme, “Entrepreneurship is for Everyone,” aims to inspire young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses, contribute to economic growth, and drive sustainable solutions.

GEW is the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship, bringing together over 10 million participants, 40,000 activities, and 20,000 partners from more than 200 countries. The week-long event connects entrepreneurs, educators, policy-makers, and innovators on a global stage to inspire, exchange ideas, and take action on key entrepreneurial initiatives.

XpressJobs COO, Dr. Oshadie Korale, and Partner Tyner Fernando, recently met with Sachindra Samararatne, Associate Chief Digital Economy Officer and  Abith Latiff, GEW Program Director of GEW, and the GEW organizing team to discuss how this partnership will support the goals of GEW 2024. With more than 200 events planned across Sri Lanka, this partnership aims to empower local talent and fuel economic growth by bridging the gap between emerging entrepreneurs and critical recruitment resources.
In his remarks,

Dr. Oshadie Korale (COO- XpressJobs) emphasized that XpressJobs’ role as the Official Recruitment Partner will indirectly support Sri Lanka’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by fostering new job opportunities created by these budding businesses. Through this partnership, XpressJobs will one day be able to provide recruitment support for GEW participants, helping them access the tools and talent needed to grow their businesses sustainably.

ICTA, the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, is a key driver behind this initiative, championing digital transformation and innovation. Through strategic partnerships, ICTA enhances digital literacy, supports startups, and facilitates platforms that drive technological advancements, ultimately positioning technology as a catalyst for growth across the nation.

We believe that entrepreneurship is fundamental to revitalizing our economy, and with the right support, young entrepreneurs can create sustainable job opportunities, said Mr. Abith Latiff, GEW Program Director of GEW.

This collaboration is set to make a lasting impact by fostering innovation and providing the recruitment infrastructure needed to support Sri Lanka’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.
