Being an HR leader isn’t just about managing employees; it’s about fostering business growth and innovation. Manoj Rathnayake, the Group General Manager – HR / OD at Anunine Holdings, exemplifies the profound impact an HR leader can have. Manoj began his HR journey in 2005 as a management trainee at Loadstar Pvt Ltd, the world’s third-largest industrial tyre manufacturer, after earning a BSc special degree in HR from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. After leaving Loadstar in 2010, Manoj was involved in several notable companies, including Associated Motorways (Private) Limited and Ideal Motors Group. Five months ago, Manoj joined Anunine Holdings, where he assumed the role of Group General Manager – HR / OD.

He now oversees over 2,500 employees across nine diverse industries, ranging from packaging, tyre manufacturing, renewable energy, paper manufacturing, sugar manufacturing, plastic hangers manufacturing and manages international HR operations in the UK and USA.

In addition, to his professional achievements, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Sri Lanka – CIPM, a certified process auditor, a certified outdoor instructor and a resource person for few universities sharing his expertise in HR strategic management, change management, organizational development,
performance management, HR information systems, and talent acquisition and development.

Vision for the future Manoj Rathnayake envisions Anunine Holdings as a best employees’ choice to work to grow career and grow in respective field in their roles with positive mind set up. He aims to lead cultural changes, boost performance driven culture and productivity, and instill pride in employees for their work. In the coming years, he plans to strengthen employer-employee relationships, increase profitability through enhancing employees productivity and build a robust organizational culture.

“My goal is to develop great leaders for HR fraternity with great qualities, thorough in subject knowledge to create value for the organizations . Be an expert in your field and pursue it with passion, not just as a job. This belief has driven my career and my commitment to helping people find jobs and providing scholarships for students. I plan my day and reflect on it at the end, ensuring continuous improvement,” says Manoj.

Manoj Rathnayake has been instrumental in aligning HR with business goals, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring employee satisfaction. His ability to navigate his authority and network brings him peace and happiness. He takes pride in helping people without hesitation, especially during tough times, by offering advice and creating career development solutions. Looking ahead, Manoj aims to continue supporting job seekers and helping HR undergraduates to find scholarships while developing leaders within his organization. He envisions Anunine Holdings as a hub of innovation and employee happiness, driving continued success and growth.

Manoj’s leadership style inspires and motivates his team, fostering a workplace where new ideas are encouraged.
