Simon Tung, General Manager for ASEAN and AEC at Kaspersky

Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity and digital privacy company, today announces the appointment of Simon Tung as its new General Manager for ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and AEC (Asia Emerging Countries). Effective October 21st, he will helm the company’s strategic direction and business operations across the region, focusing on empowering organizations and governments to navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape.

Based in Singapore, Simon will oversee all commercial operations, business development, and go-to-market strategies for ASEAN and AEC. His primary focus will be on accelerating growth, building key partnerships, and enhancing the delivery of Kaspersky’s innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers and partners in the digital era.

This leadership appointment comes at a critical time for the digital economy in the region, where rapid digitalization is matched by a surge in sophisticated cyberattacks.

The digital potential of ASEAN countries is immense, but it is contingent on trust and security. Kaspersky has an unparalleled global expertise in threat intelligence and a robust portfolio to address these very challenges which is why I am excited to lead this team and build stronger regional partnerships,

comments Simon Tung, General Manager for ASEAN and AEC at Kaspersky.

My focus will be on translating our global expertise into local impact, which means investing deeply in our team, strengthening our partner ecosystem, and ensuring our solutions address the unique challenges businesses face here.

Simon has over three decades of extensive experience in the technology sector, with a proven track record of building and scaling businesses across Asia Pacific.

ASEAN is a dynamic and strategic market for Kaspersky. The combination of the region’s digital ambition and persistent cyber risks, from targeted ransomware against critical infrastructure to financial phishing, creates a powerful imperative for our mission here,

comments Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky.

We are investing heavily in the region over the next three years to strengthen our presence, deepen our partnerships, and expand our solutions across the region. Simon brings an expert blend of strategic vision and on-the-ground execution experience. I trust that under his leadership, we will not only achieve our business objectives but also significantly enhance the region’s cyber resilience.

Simon combines financial discipline with strategic foresight to deliver sustainable results. He has successfully transformed underperforming units, doubled revenues, and launched new business models that accelerated market expansion during his stints in companies like Crayon, Microsoft, and SAP.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Adelaide, Australia, is a Chartered Certified Accountant with ACCA (UK), and has an SMU-SID Accredited Diploma in Directorship from Singapore Management of University, Singapore.
