HUTCH launched its Kandy Signature+ outlet, the latest addition to its nationwide retail transformation and the third outlet under the company’s sustainability-centric retail theme, following earlier openings in Colombo Fort and Negombo.

The outlet is a departure from conventional retail design. Nearly 90 percent of its interior has been crafted from sustainably sourced, repurposed materials with premium finishes, using reclaimed pallet wood, arecanut leaves, banana bark, and kumburu seeds. Every element has been handcrafted by local artisans, embedding a circular economy into the fabric of the outlet itself and creating direct value for the communities behind it.

Beyond its design, the Kandy Signature+ outlet is built to offer customers a genuinely different experience. Set in a cozy, nature-inspired environment, it gives people a space to explore HUTCH products and services, access support services, and engage with the brand in a setting that feels considered rather than transactional. The outlet also incorporates renewable energy to power its operations and facilitates e-waste recycling, enabling responsible disposal of out-of-life mobile devices, in line with HUTCH’s commitments under the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“Sustainability is not a footnote for us; it is built into how we operate,” said Saumitra Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, HUTCH Sri Lanka. “The Kandy Signature+ outlet is a reflection of that. It shows what retail can look like when you make deliberate choices about energy conservation, materials, craft, and the communities you work with. We are proud to bring that to the historic city of Kandy.”

HUTCH intends to expand the network of Signature outlets further across the country, setting the standard for a new era of retail and enterprise servicing in Sri Lanka.
