XpressJobs has been recognised at the National AI Awards 2026 for its AI Recruitment Assistant in the Best Agentic AI Solution category, at the inaugural awards held on 30 September 2026 at Monarch Imperial, Colombo.
The National AI Awards form part of Sri Lanka AI Week 2026 – AI Amplified, powered by the Ministry of Digital Economy and SLT-MOBITEL, recognising organisations and innovators developing practical and impactful AI solutions in Sri Lanka. The inaugural awards featured 16 categories covering different areas of AI innovation.
The awards attracted 263 applications, with entries going through two stages of filtering before 83 companies progressed to face-to-face judging. The final evaluation was conducted over two physical judging days by four expert judging panels, assessing areas including innovation, measurable impact, technical excellence, responsible AI, scalability and execution.
For XpressJobs, the recognition is particularly significant because this is a National AI Award, not a recruitment award.

The XpressJobs AI Recruitment Assistant was developed from a problem the company identified through years of working in recruitment.
As recruitment technology evolved, the bottleneck was shifting from simply finding and filtering candidates to keeping candidates engaged, answering their questions and moving them through the recruitment journey.
XpressJobs set out to solve that problem by bringing its deep recruitment expertise into artificial intelligence.
This recognition is particularly special to us because it is not a recruitment award — it is a National AI Award. We have spent years building technology around recruitment, and we brought that expertise into AI to solve a real problem. To see technology built in Sri Lanka recognised on a national AI platform is incredibly meaningful for our team.
—Dr. Oshadie Korale, COO, XpressJobs
The AI Recruitment Assistant was first piloted in September 2025 and has since evolved into an Agentic AI solution capable of proactively engaging candidates, answering questions, qualifying talent and guiding candidates through different stages of the recruitment process.
Since the initial pilot, the technology has been tested by more than 40 enterprises across a range of recruitment environments, from internships and graduate recruitment to technology, frontline and high-volume hiring.
The solution goes beyond a traditional chatbot. It can proactively reach relevant candidates, initiate conversations, provide information about roles and companies, support screening and guide candidates through applications and assessments.
It also supports communication in English, Sinhala and Tamil, helping employers engage candidates through channels they already use, including WhatsApp.

XpressJobs has spent years building technology around recruitment, from applicant tracking and online assessments to CV-less applications and recruitment analytics.
The AI Recruitment Assistant is the next step, bringing this recruitment expertise into AI to solve one of hiring’s biggest challenges: keeping candidates engaged.
The solution is designed to reduce repetitive HR–candidate conversations while providing faster, consistent support throughout the recruitment journey.
More than 40 enterprises have already tested the technology, with XpressJobs continuing to expand its AI-powered recruitment solutions in Sri Lanka and beyond.
