The MOU was signed on 20th [September, 2025] between Mr. Chathum Henegama, CEO of XpressJobs / CTO of Davton, and Ms. Kanishka Handaragama, Head of Operations at BIET.

As part of this collaboration, a dedicated “Internships” portal has been integrated into the BIET website, where students can now explore real-time listings for internships and entry-level jobs in fields including IT and Engineering.

“This partnership is a milestone for BIET,” said Ms. Kanishka Handaragama, Head of Operations, BIET. “We believe in preparing our students not just academically but also professionally. By giving them direct access to the most relevant and recent job opportunities, we are helping them transition smoothly into the workforce.”
Mr. Chathum Henegama, CEO of XpressJobs, added:
“At XpressJobs, our mission is to connect talent with opportunity. Through this collaboration with BIET, we’re excited to empower young graduates to access internships and job placements that align with their studies and career goals.
“Debugging Your Career: Graduate to Hire” – Student Development Program
To mark the occasion, BIET hosted a special career readiness program titled “Debugging Your Career: Graduate to Hire”, conducted by Mr. Chathum Henegama. The interactive session, open to BIET and non-BIET students alike, explored how graduates can effectively position themselves for employment in the fast-evolving IT sector.
Participants received a Certificate of Participation, and feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive.
With Foundation, Higher Diploma, and Degree pathways, BIET focuses on equipping students with practical skills and industry exposure to succeed in their chosen careers.
